Lamination services are like an insurance policy on the graphics investment, when protection is suggested. It is a better value to protect your prints. Large format or wide format prints which are often inkjet or photo prints, and should receive lamination. Our lamination services can add an aesthetic dimension to the final presentation, as well as protect your graphics. Both these features are worth considering. There are two types of lamination, cold or hot. With cold lamination or ‘pressure sensitive’ lamination, the print passes under un-heated pressurized rollers which essentially squeegee the laminate to the print. The adhesives in cold laminating only require pressure to make them work. With hot lamination, better known as thermal or heat-activated lamination. the adhesives are activated through heated rollers which activate the adhesive and seal your graphic. Both services are a good value, and can increase the life of your graphic. Standard laminates come in glossy, matte, or pearl finishes. Lexan is a thick poly-carbonate material available in gloss or pearl. For high traffic areas we suggest Tedlar laminates, which are both UV protective and grafitti resistant.
