Silicone edge framing is a newer term used to describe the type of framing which accepts fabric prints. The trade name of our silicone edge framing system is FabEze. FabEze framework is our custom designed aluminum extrusion made for accepting silicone edge graphics (SEG). Fabric graphics have gained in popularity with airport advertising, museums, sports departments, and a host of industrial and home uses. Fabric graphics which are to be displayed like a stretched canvas require a special method to accomplish this. For the stretched canvas look, which spotlights the graphic and downplays the frame, you will have a silicone gasket sewn into the perimeter of the fabric graphics. This silicone edge will need to be pulled taut to create that canvas stretched look. An added channel within the frame stock is molded to acommodate the width and ease of gliding a silicone gasket around it, on all four sides. With FabEze or our aluminum extrusion framing system, the silicone edge will glide easily into its framing channels. This method automatically and ‘with ease’ will stretch the fabric out into a nicely displayed taut canvas. It is with that ease that this FabEze framing system will enable you to switch out graphics in a matter of minutes. The silicone edge aluminum framing system can be displayed as a permanent display, while the graphics can be switched out anytime. These are surface mount frames for permanent installations!
