UV-LED direct will expands your opportunity to print on a variety of substrates. It also shows great promise for maintaining fine line detail. UV-LED direct provides opaque colors on both dark and clear substrates. UV-LED direct printing can add texture to your sign. The fine dots and lines of your artwork will be kept sharp. Mostly you are no longer restricted to a limited set of substrates. UV-LED direct broadens and diversifies your substrate choices. Its features are desirable for producing high-end signs and upscale graphics. So read on..
UV-LED is environmentally-friendly
This technology, UV-LED direct printing, is safe for the environment. The LED lamps used replace the former, high-powered, mercury lamps. The inks are now environmentally-friendly because they contain no volatile organic compounds (VOC’s). UV-curable inks harden instantly so there is no opportunity for off-gassing, even if they did contain the wrong compounds. Their chemical formulation works in tandem with a fast chemical response to LED lamps. UV-LED lamps use significantly less energy and do not generate lots of heat. In fact, these lamps are so cool they allow substrates like plastic to be direct printed, without warping. The bulbs are inherently long-lasting, so you won’t be filling up our landfills at the rate of former bulbs. The advances in UV LED lamp and ink technology had made this print process very popular. UV-LED direct printing is ideal for high-quality, high-speed signs and detailed graphics.
UV-LED printing properties
UV-LED prints fine detail onto a variety of different substrates. Dot spread is minimal due to fast drying. Color saturation is maximized with opaque and layering opportunities. Little ink absorption goes into the substrate. Instant cure UV inks enable fast multi-layer printing. You can produce high-quality designs with two-layer and three-layer printing. There are sixteen channels to work with and seven ink colors options, including white. The white ink option adds value because it ensures color fidelity. It works well for both front-lit and back-lit viewing. The white ink option enables three-layer printing: color + white + color or 4/w/4. This layering offers pure color fidelity, and works especially well for double-sided signs which require both day and night viewing.
UV-LED provides sharp, fine detail
Multiple layers can be applied in a single printing pass, simultaneously. You can achieve fine detailed results, even with incredibly small fonts. Attention to detail is important to many clients, and it allows sophisticated designs to be perfectly reproduced.
(Glass office partitions have gained popularity with current culture. You may have seen designs in fine white ink or colored ink designs on clear film. These are seen in commercial offices around the country. Clear films such as Lintec, are applied to windows and glass partitions. These light and airy designs are easy to access with the capability of these UV-LED direct printing servers. Advertisers and architects, alike, have taken to these environmentally responsible methods of printing, which only offer them optimal solutions for fine detail.)
UV-LED In Summary
UV-LED direct printing has quickly become a mainstream printing technology for good reasons. My business runs both flatbed and roll UV-LED printers. Dainipon Screen Trupress is our rigid substrate printer, and our roll printer is the recently released Mimaki UVJ55-320. The Mimaki prints up to 127.9 inches across, for super wide-format printing.
