Transforming your lobby with fabric graphics has been made accessible through the magic of digital printing technologies. Corporate designer, architects, and home designers need to know just how easy and accessible it is to gather up the various custom design components for any project. Fabric graphics are one of the favorite forms of digital printing for design, and have made great gains in popularity across a host of differing markets. Fabric graphics transform a large wall or space into a designed environment not only because of size and sharp look. The color saturation is amazing, the ability to color match is pretty awesome, and the durability makes its a great solution. The warming presence of a fabric graphics creates instant ambiance. It is a comfort space for many and an intriguing environmental setting. The fabric graphic is richer because it transcends the removed graphics under glass. The textural presence of fabric is an appealing and integral part of its design. It lives and shares the same space as you do. The fabric display can be taken down and washed from time to time, if necessary.
Large format fabric murals come in unlimited sizes and proportions. They endure the elements and are not as susceptible to breaking or bending. Washable fabric graphics are not just intended as wall displays and murals, but you can also create custom printed fabric in short runs. Digitally printed short runs of fabric allows you to custom create and design. You don’t have to waste time hunting for the perfect or most suitable design when you can invent one yourself! You can take a custom digital photograph or copy a favorite dish pattern, and use this to create window shades, tablecloths, curtains, chair cushions, and more. The fabric comes in a variety of weights and textures.
What’s the process? It called dye sublimation transfer fabric printing and it is one step beyond traditional inkjet printing. After file preparation is complete, the image gets printed to a large sheet or continuous roll of transfer paper. The water-based inks are not toxic to the environment. The printed graphic on transfer paper is then sandwiched face-to-face with your chosen fabric, and run through the rollers of a dye sublimation fabric printer. Essentially these are high heat rollers transfer the image through compression and a temperature of 400 degrees. There are take-up rollers for runs of fabric, long or short. The heated rollers cause the fibers of the poly-blend fabric to open wide, nearly melting. The liquid inks become a gas in this heated state and transfer to the receiving rolls of fabric through compression and encapsulation. When this fabric cools, the gaseous dyes become solid dye and are entrapped inside the cooled fibers, making a permanent bond.
The designer’s palette now has endless possibility to achieving unique design. Digital printing can allow you to meet the custom needs of any decor, signage, or themed project. Digitally produced fabric graphics can be produced for a single run or multiple runs, bursting the former expense of long runs only. Fabric graphics can be any size, with no formatting restrictions. Whether for corporate decor or home decor, your front lobby/hallway will be transformed by large format environmental fabric graphics. They are perfect for showrooms, lobbies, training halls, colleges, and so on. The next time you are tackling an interior design project, please consider using large fabric displays to create that environment. Fabric graphics are completely custom and the way to go!
