Where Do I Find Awesome Prints on Brushed Aluminum?

One might ask, what defines a print as awesome on brushed aluminum? For accurate full color reproduction of the original artwork you will need to find a large format printer who has white UV ink capability with their UV flatbed printer. “White UV ink capability” is key for beginning with a neutral ground for achieving true saturate colors with the full range of contrast. The earlier UV flatbed printers did not have white UV ink capability.  It is the ability to lay down a layer of white ink on the substrate before the color layers of ink, effectively offering a blank white canvas unaffected by the substrate’s colors. Some large format printers may offer laser etchings, in which case you can acquire an image etched into the metal which is a completely different look. This is not what this blog is covering today.

You may not always desire to disguise or neutralize out the background, in which case you can use a spot appearance of white to make a statement.
