Digital fabric printing services is often practiced in the T-shirt printing world, but have you noticed how much you see fabric graphics at trade shows these days? Is this a passing fad, and why has it become so trendy? Is it here to stay?
I believe it is here to stay and here’s why: Classic solutions always endure the test of time. Quality products keep re-trending because it is a worthy solution. If it were simply a money-saving solution, it might not stick around when times get better. Is it simply money-saving though? How about the quality of the graphics? I can recall back in the early eighties a new product hit the market called a “Scan-a-mural.” It was graphics printed on a heavy canvas, comparably the dinosaur of fabric graphics. Failure of the scan-a-murals can be attributed to poor graphics quality; it was both visually fuzzy and had little color saturation. There were no black blacks or D-Max. Beyond this, they were also weighty and cumbersome to deal with. Leap forward twenty-five years and you’ve got a solution that is light years away. Today’s fabric graphics are extremely sharp (define in DPI) and the color purity and saturation is hard to beat. Fabric technology has changed so that you have lighter, yet stronger cloth substrates, which are often made from recyclables. Lighter fabric are now fitted to lighter display structure, often made of recycled aluminum. This improved fabric graphic display booth can be transported easier due to its lower weight and dimensions. Lower fuel expense is better for the environment and better for your marketing budget. It has little to no drayage costs, and bonus, set-up and tear-down is a breeze. Its set-up solution reminds me of the old Castro Convertible TV commerical,” It’s so easy, even a child can do it.” Take a look at our YouTube video, and you will see my twelve year old daughter setting one up!
Whether you are an older seasoned exhibitor or are new to the scene, these fabric hop-ups are a fabulous solution: cost-effective, a greener solution and physically more manageable and most important is the superior graphics quality! Its durable and is more equipped to endure the wear and tear of travel to shows. These high quality characteristics make fabric graphics a solution that is more than trendy, it’s soon to become classic!
