SEG

SEG framing is a type of frame designed specifically to accept the silicone edge of fabric graphics. These fabric graphics are referred to as silicone edge graphics (SEG) when it has been determined the fabric graphic will be displayed in a frame, stretched like a canvas.  A silicone gasket is sewn into the perimeter edge on all four sides of the fabric graphic. The framing is typically made from extruded aluminum and detours from a ‘normal frame’ because of the added channel inside the lip of the frame, designed to accept the silicone gasket. The silicone edge easily glides into this channel or can be popped into place with minimal effort. When fabric graphics are displayed in this SEG framing,  the graphics stand out and are the dominant feature. Customarily, framing seen in most galleries and displays are a dominant feature or at least a visually supportive one. With SEG framing, this is never the case. The aesthetic of this method of display is that the image always remains dominant. The image does not need to be under glass. The viewer can see the pure colors and sharpness with no interference. There are no glare issues when displayed without glass. SEG framing visually takes a second seat with its low profile. SEG framing functions well with its role as a canvas stretcher.

This specialized SEG framing system can be custom cut to most any length. This thereby gives you the freedom to choose the dimensions of your display. Now the physical dimensions of your exhibit or display space is your only limit!  Imagine framing your image as big as the wall murals you see in airports or as small as you might need. Our professional staff  provide framing for all dimensions, but especially  for large format, grand format, wide format mural graphics. Digital imaging and fabric printing breaks tradition with formerly standardized sizing, which was mostly driven by the proportioning of film formats. Images used to fall apart when blown up too far. High resolution files and digital imaging onto large swaths of fabric has opened the way for grand format prints. Give us a call when considering mural-sized fabric graphics and  SEG framing for your project!
